I’m from the DC-Metro area, took a gap year to study abroad in China (joint NSLI-Y & AFS program), and am currently a student at the University of Virginia, majoring in Foreign Affairs and Global Development.
I love traveling, exploring new cultures, meeting new people, and trying new things. I am proficient in Spanish and Chinese, and am interested in learning lots more languages as well. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, doing volunteer work, hiking, kayaking, taking yoga classes, casual photography, eating at yummy restaurants, and all things coffee. Currently, my bucket list includes: hiking volcanoes, skydiving, hang gliding, scuba diving, playing with elephants, and going to the World Cup one day. I hope to travel everywhere around the world, learning about people and cultures, and enjoying the experiences life gives to me.
If traveling has taught me anything, it’s to keep an open mind, have compassion for all those around you, make the most of every opportunity, be thankful for every experience, and always stay positive. I strive to be a good representative of the United States as I travel, and help further mutual understanding through intercultural dialogue. Most importantly, I hope that the lessons I learn through my travels will enable me to one day make a positive impact on the world.
