I took the night train from Milan to Paris, which was an interesting experience. There were 6 people in a tiny little room on little “couchette’s” but actually I slept for almost the entire time. So all in all it wasn’t bad. I arrived in Paris at 11:15 am, later than expected since my train was delayed leaving Milan.
When I got there, I made my way to my friend Hannah’s Airbnb, where she welcomed me with croissants and espresso, and I promptly took a much needed shower. Then Hannah, her 2 friends from high school, and I went to Ladurée on the Champs-Élysées to meet our friend Erin (who was celebrating her 20th birthday in Paris) for lunch / tea. It was such a cute little place with beautiful decor and really yummy food and tea. And it was very relaxing after a lot of traveling. After our almost 3 hour long lunch, we went to check out the Eiffel Tower, crossing the Seine River and stumbling upon a little Christmas market where we got some of our beloved mulled wine. After walking around a bit more, we headed back to the Airbnb to chill for a little before going to dinner in Montmartre at a cute place called La Balançoire. The food was so good. We walked around that area for a little bit before deciding to go to a cozy bar for some drinks. All in all, it was a good little taste of Paris. I didn’t see much at all, but I got to eat some yummy things, feel the city vibe, and most importantly see some of my friends from college and celebrate with Erin!
